State Immigration Administration Announcement
So as to support the further opening of Hainan to the outside, to accelerate the pace of establishing an island for international tourism, and to continuously increase the development and internationalization of Hainan's tourism industry, with the approval of the State Council, the State Immigration Administration has decided to implement a policy of visa-free travel in Hainan for persons from 59 nations. Notice on this matters is given as follows:
I. The list of countries to which the policy applies
Russia, Britain, France, Germany, Norway, Ukraine, Italy, Austria, Finland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia , Thailand, Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Monaco, Belarus.
II. Content of the Policy
Persons from the above countries holding ordinary passports, who are travelling to Hainan, who are received by travel agencies established in Hainan, may enter visa-free at open ports of entry in Hainan, and remain in Hainan Province administrative regions for 30 days.
III. Matters for attention
During their stay in Hainan, foreigners who entered visa-free shall obey China's laws, and must not go beyond the permitted region and time for their stay. Hotels are to register the residence of those staying in the hotel; for those living or staying place other than hotels , they or the person providing accommodations shall register them with the public security substation for the residence or a foreigner service state, etc., within 24 hours of their taking residence.
Those who exceed the regional scope and time for their stay, as well as those who do not register their accommodations, are to be addressed by public security organs at the county level or above, or by China Immigration Inspection organs, in accordance with the "Exit-Entry Administration Law of the P.R.C."
This policy in this announcement will take effect from May 1, 2018.
