The "Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Abolishing the Legal Provisions and System Relating to Custody and Education" has already been passed by the 15th session of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress on December 28, 2019, and is hereby released, to take effect on December 29, 2019.

Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Abolishing the Legal Provisions and System Relating to Custody and Education

(Passed by the 15th Session of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress on December 28, 2019)

The 15th Session of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress decides:

I. Paragraphs 2 and 4 of article 4 of the "Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Strictly Prohibiting Prostitution and Solicitation of Prostitution" are abolished, as well as the system of Custody and Education that was based upon them.

II. Custody and Education decisions lawfully made before the abolition of the Custody and Education system are valid; after the abolition of the Custody and Education system, persons currently in Custody and Education are relieved from Custody and Education, and the remaining period is not to be enforced.

This Decision is to become effective on December 29, 2019.
