High people's courts of all provinces, autonomous regions and directly governed municipalities, the PLA military courts, High People's Court of Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region branch of the production and construction Corps:
So as to standardize the usage of case numbers for multiple judgment documents derived from the same case, to facilitate distinction and recognition, and to satisfy the needs of the actual enforcement of judgments, notice of the following is hereby given:
I. The case numbers assigned to a specific cases are unique, and courts at each level shall standardize their usage in judgment documents. Where a single case puts forward multiple judgment documents that are of the same type, the first judgment document shall directly use the case number, and subsequent documents shall have the case number followed by “-1”, “-2” and so forth to distinguish the documents.
II, Where a single case puts forward multiple judgment documents of different types, there is no need make additions after the case number to distinguish documents as described above.
III. When a single case has multiple judgment documents and at least two of the documents are of the same category, then make additions after the case name as described above beginning from the second case in every category, so as to distinguish them.
IV. The types of judgment documents mentioned above include written judgments, written rulings, mediation documents, decisions, and also notices.

A. The case number assigned to a specific case is unique, and courts at each level shall standardize its usage in adjudicative documents. Where there are multiple judgment documents that are of the same category and are derived from the same case, the case number shall be used in the first adjudicative document. For subsequent documents, “之一”, “之二” etc. shall be added after the case number in order to distinguish the documents.
