HK National Security goes abroad: To wit, to Wix.
It was clear at the release of Hong Kong’s National Security Law that it unapologetically brought HK more directly under Mainland China’s oversight. It created central government institutions in Hong Kong, took greater control of Hong Kong authorities. The new law directly imported the mainland’s criminal procedure for some crimes ‘endangering national security’ and expanded police powers.

Quick Take: Was a Shanghai Man retroactively given an 8 month sentence
Last week, a Shanghai man was sentenced to 8 months in prison for throwing garbage from his upstairs apartment and injuring a woman below. The story was publicized as an early enforcement of a new crime, but occurred before the amendment took effect.
